Park Chung Hee School of Policy and Saemaul (PSPS) at Yeungnam University is offering scholarships to South African students to pursue their Master’s degree in three core areas Saemaul and International Development, Public Policy and Leadership, and Sustainable Development.

Who can apply?

Applicants must

  • Completed 12 years of formal education covering elementary, middle, and high school (or its equivalent) prior to undergraduate studies;
  • Obtained a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution, equivalent to a 4-year Korean bachelor's degree;
  • Demonstrates a high level of proficiency in English;
  • Maintains good physical and mental health, suitable for completing the degree programme.

Please note that conditions such as pregnancy, tuberculosis, or any contagious diseases may disqualify an applicant from the selection process.

In the case of Sustainable Development, preference will be given to applicants who hold a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, forestry, environmental engineering or other related fields. However, degrees from other disciplines will also be considered especially if they have extensively dealt with sustainable development concepts and practices.

What the scholarship offers

  • Tuition fees;
  • Admission fee waiver;
  • Monthly living allowance. 

Students are encouraged to maintain a high academic standard. Those who do not achieve a minimum GPA of 3.0 (out of 4.5) or receive an "F" in any course will be required to cover 30% of the tuition fee for the subsequent semester.

Successful applicants will be responsible for all other costs not covered by the scholarship.
