The TESIECS Intra-Africa Mobilities Project is offering a unique opportunity for African students to pursue Master’s or short-term credit-seeking programmes at leading institutions in Southern Africa.

Who can apply?

For Master’s Applicants:
- Minimum Second Class Upper Division (3.5 CGPA or equivalent) or at least 70% average in all modules in relevant fields from a recognized university;
- English proficiency confirmation letter from a former or current higher education institution;
- For full-degree applications, submit a 2,000-word proposal (refer to the TESIECS Mobility Scholarship Guidelines for details);
- Applicants must commit to completing the programme within the specified duration: 5–22 months for Master’s programme;.
- Must be an African student residing on the continent at the time of application;
- Must not have previously benefited from an Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme scholarship (2022–2027);
- Must not benefit from another EU-funded scholarship for the same activity;
- Provide two recommendation/reference letters (at least one from an academic advisor or lecturer);
- Commit to studying outside their home country within TESIECS participating institutions;
- Provide proof of special needs (if applicable).
Target beneficiaries
The scholarship targets two groups:

Target Group 1:
Students registered, admitted to, or who have obtained a degree from one of the TESIECS participating institutions:- University of Johannesburg
- University of the Western Cape
- University of Zimbabwe
- University of Botswana
- Namibia University of Science and Technology

Target Group 2:
Students from any other public university in Africa who wish to apply to one of the TESIECS institutions.
